Westgarth's 2nd annual astronomy night!

40 families came to witness the clouds parting just in time for a perfect view of the close conjunction of Venus and Jupiter, and to see the sights of the night sky. This event won't appear in our skies again until 2065, so it was pretty exciting to see it so clearly, even with the naked eye. We also got to see Saturn and a binary star!

There were some beautiful indoor displays, including a real meteorite, models and an interactive ipad app "Solar walk"

There were also some spectacular cakes, mulled wine and an outdoor cinema!

Thanks to all involved for making it another special night! See you next time!
