The Colour Sensor

Yesterday afternoon we began investigating the colour sensor. We began by programming our robots to 'stop' once it sensed a particular colour - either red, green, blue or yellow. The tricky part was in making sure our robots stopped because the sensor had picked up on the colour change, not because it had completed a set number of wheel rotations.

Once we were more confident in programming our sensors to detect colours, we worked in small groups to set up mazes and challenges for our robots. This could include programming our robot to make right angle turns when it detected the colour it was looking for, or to use the coloured tape to guide our robots along a pathway.

Once again, thank you to our Robogals for coming to Westgarth and helping to teach us about the colour sensor!
