In the last session of the term we made SUMO bots in preparation for our student showcase in August. Everyone was very enthusiastic as usual and took to the challenge with great gusto!

Unfortunately no- one allowed enough time to program their robots, so though there were some impressive designs, no one was pushing anyone anywhere!

So a great lesson was learnt in that we will have to pay attention to planning our strategy which includes, not only building a robot, but what the programming strategy is also. Remember when programming your bot to have a 5 second pause before starting the program to allow the contestants to place the robot in the ring and move away from them.

Preparations were underway over the holidays too making the SUMO Challenge boards and we are all very excited about the upcoming term!
